When You Have Tried Everything and Still Do Not Feel Right

Living with ongoing pain, fatigue, anxiety, or a health issue that resists easy answers is exhausting. Many people arrive at acupuncture after years of managing symptoms rather than resolving them: painkillers that help in the short term but do not get to the root, referrals that take months, appointments that feel rushed.

What you are looking for is someone who takes the time to understand the full picture, not just the presenting symptom. Someone who treats you as a whole person, not a set of disconnected complaints.

That is the approach Marion brings to every appointment at Nettles Clinic.

What Is Traditional Acupuncture?

Traditional acupuncture is a complete system of medicine rooted in Chinese medical theory, developed and refined over thousands of years. It works by stimulating specific points on the body using fine, sterile needles to encourage the body's own healing response, improve circulation, and restore balance across physical, emotional, and mental health.

It is suitable for people of all ages and can be used alongside conventional medical treatment. Other techniques including cupping, gua sha, and moxibustion may be used where appropriate.

Acupuncture at Nettles Clinic, Wivelsfield Green

Marion Beal holds a BSc in Chinese Medicine Acupuncture from the University of Westminster and is registered with the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC), the UK's largest professional body for traditional acupuncturists. She also studied auricular (ear) acupuncture at the College of Auricular Acupuncture.

Appointments at Nettles Clinic are unhurried. Marion takes time at the start of every session to understand what is happening for you before treatment begins, and she sees the same patients consistently over time, building a relationship and treatment plan that evolves with your needs.

Conditions Marion commonly sees include: chronic and acute pain, headaches and migraines, stress and anxiety, digestive issues, sleep difficulties, and fertility support.

Treatment

Fine, sterile needles are placed at selected points and left in place while you rest, typically for 20 to 30 minutes. Most patients find this deeply relaxing. Cupping or ear acupuncture may also be included where appropriate.

Ongoing Care

Marion will discuss how many sessions are likely to help and how often you should come. Most people notice a shift within three to five appointments, with cumulative improvements over a course of treatment.

What Patients Commonly Experience

Reduced Pain and Tension
Acupuncture is widely used for musculoskeletal pain, headaches, and tension. Many patients experience meaningful relief within a short course of treatment.

Calmer Nervous System
Acupuncture has a documented effect on the nervous system, often producing a deep sense of calm during and after treatment. Patients dealing with stress, anxiety, and sleep difficulties frequently report this as one of the most noticeable changes.

Treated as a Whole Person
Many patients come to Marion after feeling that their issue has been dismissed or incompletely addressed elsewhere. The pace and depth of a traditional acupuncture appointment often provides something conventional settings struggle to offer.

Acupuncture

Traditional acupuncture is a comprehensive holistic medical system that considers a person as an integrated whole, acknowledging the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit. It is suitable for people of all ages and may be effectively combined with standard medical treatments to address a wide array of health concerns.

Acupuncture involves inserting fine needles at specific body points to trigger the body’s natural healing responses. Other techniques, including cupping, gua sha, or moxibustion, may be used if deemed suitable. During the treatment process, your tongue may be examined to assist in selecting acupuncture points, so it is recommended that you avoid cleaning or scraping your tongue before the appointment.

Many individuals who receive acupuncture on a regular basis report enhanced vitality and noticeable improvements in overall health, empowering them to take a more active role in their personal well-being.
